March 18, 2019
This is a very special day and week. Today is Luke Do’s “re-birthday” — the 17-year anniversary of his stem cell/bone marrow transplant.
Luke is the son of Team SuperMarrow founder snd Captain Lam Do, M.D., also known as Captain A’marrow’ca!
In four days on March 22nd, Luke will turn 19. By the grace of God and his bone marrow donor Randy Yamanaka, Luke is a leukemia survivor and thriver. The story of their journey is absolutely remarkable and resulted in two pieces of landmark legislation for stem cell/bone marrow and organ donors in the states of Washington and California. Dr. Do posted a video of then Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signing the California bill into law with the late Steve Jobs who played a significant role in driving the bill. Dr. Do and the Asian American Donor Program also played important roles in the legislation. That video is here on this channel.
