Apollo, a Siberian #Lynx, gets Operant Conditioning Treats from Marie

What is Operant Conditioning? Operant Conditioning is positive reinforcement training, getting the cats to do natural movements for a treat.

Why is it important? It gets the cats accustomed to following us from one section of their enclosure to another so we can open or close doors safely with no stress to the cat. It also allows us to see how they are moving.

Example: Apollo is very very old and has arthritis. How do you know if his meds are working or if he is in pain? Well, watching how he moves gives us an idea. Are his movements smooth or stiff? Is his motion full range or limited?

It takes 1200 people signing up as a 99cent/month supporter to cover the care for 1 tiger! Currently, 491 of you have signed up. Will you consider hitting that "Support Now" button to become a 99cent/month supporter?

Each day we upload 2 or 3 extra videos like this one that is only visible to supporters. Later today, "Amanda Tiger being sweet" will upload as an Exclusive for Supporters video.
