Caring for Someone with Addiction with Pamela Brinker
This show is for everyone who knows a friend or loved one that is dealing with addiction and mental health issues, and for anyone who has struggled with life's difficulties.
Pamela Brinker joins me on the show to tell the story of her two sons who both have battled with addiction and mental health issues. She shares her story of how she has gotten through this trying time and has come out brave and joyful! This is a fabulous book for anyone who is dealing with an addictive loved one to learn to self care and be brave!
Her story entails looking on the streets of Denver to find her son who at the time had become homeless and how her love helped him turn his life around! This is a heartbreaking and an empowering story of recovery. In the book she tells techniques for achieving balance. Pamela became brave to continue on with her work as a psychotherapist and as a clinical social worker for 32 years. She has treated thousands of clients and developed over 20 tools and practices to teach everyday bravery. Pamela has loved and stood by two sons as they have moved forward on a more loving and fulfilling path.
