Our Kirk Gimenez interviewed Sandy Lighterman, Broward County Film Commissioner, about the movie growth she’s been overseeing. Lighterman is our first interview at the new beach front studio where Xizzle TV has partnered with Bowa Studios and Mizone on Hallandale Beach. She also talked about how local businesses can get involved on this growth by registering to do business with the movie industry at Film Lauderdale.

Broward County, Florida, a.k.a. Greater Fort Lauderdale is on a mission to become a major player in international film and television production. From a new film and television incentive program to the construction of a major $164 million film studio complex, Film Commissioner, Sandy Lighterman is priming Greater Fort Lauderdale to become the most popular filming location in the state of Florida.
Besides new film incentive programs that will soon prove to be the largest program in the state, the Broward Film Commission is working with it’s 31 municipalities to develop film-friendly communities to lay a foundation that services production clients. Broward County welcomes film and television projects to reap the benefits of stimulating local economic growth and create well-paid jobs for residents and opportunities for local small businesses.
